This project will renovate and construct additions to the Collins Classroom Building being renamed as Sentry Hall. Exterior site improvements include grading, new landscaping, constructing a bio-retention basin for stormwater management, and installation of a geothermal system on the north side of Lot E. Construction is anticipated to begin in Spring of 2026 with substantial completion by early 2029. The project budget is $98,098,000. |

The Wisconsin Department of Administration Division of Facilities Development (DFD) has retained Ayres on behalf of the Universities of Wisconsin to prepare an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) in accordance with the Wisconsin Environmental Policy Act (WEPA), Wisconsin Statutes 1.11, and UWSA guidelines (Board of Regents’ Resolution 2508, November 6, 1981). The purpose of the Draft EIA is to identify the project’s potential impacts on the physical, biological, social, and economic environments. The Draft EIA describing these potential impacts is being made available to the public and appropriate agencies for a 15-day minimum review period, which begins on September 11, 2025 and concludes on September 26, 2025. Copies of the document will be available for review at the UW-Stevens Point Campus Library and Portage County Public Library and at www.ayresprojectinfo.com. |
|
A public meeting to present the Draft EIA will begin at 5:30 PM on September 17, 2025. The meeting will be held remotely via Microsoft Teams at http://bit.ly/45dRC6B (Meeting ID: 251 203 391 919 4; Passcode: QM7nB39K). A meeting link is also available on the Ayres project website (www.ayresprojectinfo.com). A description of the project and potential environmental impacts will be presented. All persons will be afforded a reasonable opportunity to identify both orally and in writing any support, issues, or concerns they believe should be further addressed during the EIA process. If you are interested in this project or have any information relevant to it, we welcome your comments, suggestions, or other input. For consideration in the Final EIA, please submit your comments at the meeting or in writing by September 26, 2025. Comments in writing can be sent to: |
